The Nike LeBron 4 “Eggplant” releases tomorrow via SNKRS and select retailers, available in men’s sizing and retailing for $250. Though this “Eggplant” formulation isn’t an OG Lebron IV colorway, it strikes pretty close to both the model’s DNA and sneakerhead consciousness at large. The silhouette’s heavy use of Foamposite material in its upper means that this colorway was always in the cards, and it was preceded in the original run by a similar “East Coast Blackout.” Below in our “Where To Buy” section you’ll find an up-to-date list of all the retailers dropping the Nike LeBron 4 “Eggplant,” with detailed images and our original coverage intact ahead of that.

Original article posted March 19th, 2024: The floodgates are now open for the LeBron 4 Retro circuit after Nike decided to bring back one of the most sought-after and expensive PEs of all-time. While we’ve yet to learn of any other original colorways returning to the fold, we know that Nike is experimenting with an “Eggplant” version this Summer 2024 as revealed by official images.
Immediately, this connection between the King’s fourth signature shoe and the iconic colorway from the Air Foamposite One may seem a bit loose. However, the LeBron 4 does in fact have a Foamposite molded upper, which explains why this silhouette carries that iridescent dark purple shade so well. In keeping to that Foamposite aesthetic, Nike adds black collars and midsoles while an opaque translucent outsole sits below.
Although it’s never been confirmed by the man himself, Foamposites never seemed to be a particular favorite of LeBron. He’s rarely ever seen in the shoes off-the-court or during his tunnel walks into the locker-room, so this decision to bring Eggplant into the mix is purely based on the foam-molded material itself.
A firm release date is not yet known, but expect a drop this Summer 2024 season for $250.
In more updated footwear, here’s the latest in the LeBron 21, which has jus been revealed in a “Multi-color” edition.
