Japanese Imprint MIN-NANO Takes On The ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10.1

Simplistic style in focus for the two brands' inaugural pair.

Japanese Imprint MIN-NANO Takes On The ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10.1

Skate imprint MIN-NANO’s star has steadily risen from a beloved local outlet to a more global name; collaborations with FILA and Vans in the past several years speak to how they’ve looked outside their home turf. However, for arguably their splashiest collaboration to date, they don’t have to stray far from home. The MIN-NANO ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10.1 marks the first ever link-up for the two Japanese staples, and it’s already available at retailers.

Founder Goro Nakatsugawa shared part of his thought process behind this shoe’s design via the brand’s blog section, avowing that there was no overarching theme or narrative he carried into its creation. Instead, as a long-time fan of ASICS, he wanted something simplistic and “less sporty,” attempting to play to modern sensibilities with its neutral grey and off-white palette.

All of those are clear and evident on the shoe’s profile, with those two calm tones combining for a very Y2K atmosphere. Though Nakatsugawa is humble in discussions of this pair, he does bring some unique details to this collab, including a wider mesh arrangement and geometric print that runs from the quarter to the heel.

The ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10.1 is available now via global ASICS channels ($200), though sizes are almost entirely sold out via their main site. However, additional partnering retailers like UNDFTD, Concepts, and SNS have a wider selection of sizes that are still up for grabs. Hit the links under “Where To Buy” to check for yours.
