The Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement” is one of the most hotly anticipated Jordan releases of Holiday 2024 and a strong Sneaker Of The Year candidate at that. The iconic original colorway retro will be available in family sizes on November 23rd via Nike, boutiques, and retailers.

Adult sizes retail for $220, Grade School sizes go for $150, PS sizes retail for $90, and TD sizes carry a $75 shelf price. These are said to be a “Super GR” and will be produced in massive quantitates, meaning future restocks are possible.

Originally released in 1988, the Tinker Hatfield-designed Air Jordan 3 is largely thought of as one of the greatest sneakers of all time. The “Black Cement” was one of four original colorways that made up the model’s inaugural run, first released and worn by Michael Jordan during the 1988 NBA All-Star Game.
The November 23rd drop marks the sixth “Black Cement” Jordan 3 retro to date, with the shoe last rearing its head in 2018. While there was early speculation the shoe might fall under the “Reimagined” canon this time around, that’s not at all the case. The latest Jordan 3 “Black Cement” does right by the original with a circa. 1988 shape, black leather base, elephant print panels around the toe and heel sections, and red accents in all the right places. Compared to the 2018 retro, the elephant print looks a bit more washed out and the black leather utilized is a touch smoother.
Much like the “Bred Reimagined” and “Military Blue” Jordan 4s, the Jordan 3 “Black Cement” will be produced in huge quantities. Two limited drops occurred before the global November 23rd release; a Nike SNKRS shock drop and one taking place at Scarr’s Pizza in New York City.
