The Nike Air Max Plus Tiempo Gets Coated In Red

Nike’s latest Air Max Plus offshoot isn’t like the rest. While models like the Air Max Plus Drift and Air Max Plus Utility derive from non-specific sources, the Air Max Plus Tiempo take a page straight out of the Beaverton brand’s catalog with a design (and namesake) inspired by the Nike Tiempo football cleat.

We’ve yet to see an Air Max Plus Tiempo release at the time of this writing, but recent developments suggest the new “upgraded” version could be arriving sooner rather than later. An all-black pair surfaced in March, a “Wolf Grey” colorway hit the newswire a few weeks ago, and now we’re graced with official retailer images of an all-red pair. Across all three looks, the changes to the base model’s tooling are made clear as day. The model’s traditional TPU overlays are absent, replaced by stitched outlines upon an all-leather base, and a leather Swoosh runs along the quarter. Even still, you’d probably be correct in stating that the AMP Tiempo’s defining feature is its detachable lace shroud, an addition that serves as the shoe’s most glaring football tie-in.

Nike hasn’t gone public with a release date for any of the Air Max Plus Tiempos previewed thus far, but indications suggest the brand is eyeing a Summer/Fall 2024 rollout for its latest Air Max re-imagination. In the meantime, enjoy official images below and revisit our Sneaker Release Dates page for updates on the new model’s arrival.
