Left-field design language for this Classic Clog retooling.

Crocs Continues To Stretch Its Limits With The New Bubble Crush Clog

The work of Salehe Bembury with the Pollex Clog has proved going away that the Colorado company’s comfort-minded shoes sometimes need a bit of eccentric flair to go the extra distance. As brands across the industry tap into that same concept (the New Balance 1906L a perfect example), Crocs is tackling it without any outside help. The Crocs Bubble Crush Clog, sporting an exaggerated platform sole is  available now here in five debut colorways.

For the uninitiated, while this is a fresh silhouette, it’s not the first to featured this sort of platform sole. Indeed, the “Crush” series has minted a number of models already, planting a pronounced support for a boot, sandals and a ton of retooled takes on the Classic Clog proper. Where the Bubble crush stands out is how it eschews the subtle linework of previous editions, instead pasting pronounced textured detailing throughout the sole unit.

The foot entrance also gets a bit of a refresh, presenting wavy structure rather than the clean geometry of mainline drops, and a few vents at the forefoot improve breathability while they’re at it. With a 69 mm drop, this is easily one of the most attention-grabbing silhouettes Crocs has rolled out. To that point, designer Alexander Mayhew shared that the “Bubble Crush is inspired by warped DNA, blending blocks of color and bold personality.”

As mentioned up top, the Crocs Bubble Crush Clog is already up on the Crocs site ($80); you can grab a pair using this link. Barring that, you can check out which styles are available with the gallery of colorways included right ahead.
