After a two year hiatus, one of the most polarizing Jordan shoes ever created is back for another retro run. In 2005, Jordan Brand paved a new lane by debuting the Jordan Dub Zero, the Jumpman’s first ever hybrid model. The years that followed saw the release of several other “Frankenstein” shoes like the Spiz’ike among others, all of which helped define one of the more peculiar eras in Jordan Brand’s history in the years following MJ’s playing days.
To the uninitiated; the Dub Zero combines elements from as many as eight Air Jordan models. The top portion lends itself to the Jordan 13, the mudguard is adopted from the Jordan 11, and sole is that of the Jordan 4. The laser print detailing up top is taken from the Jordan 20, which released the very same year. A balanced mix of white and black treatments warrants a “White Thunder” nickname here, with the laser-engraved top overlay providing some differentiation in light tan.
Official images of the Dub Zero “White Thunder” arrive alongside those of a new “Game Royal” colorway, signaling that the Jumpman might have a few additional looks in its chamber. In any case, scroll through the full gallery below and look for these to his shelves during the Fall 2024 shopping season for $160.
