As the face of current tech runner styles, it’s been hard to find a pair of ASICS GEL-Kayano 14s; most inline and collaborative editions either sell out within minutes or at best, in a matter of days. That demand has spilled over onto the ASICS GT-2160 as well, with select looks for the cheaper silhouette also flying of the shelves. We’d thusly suggest you act fast on the kicks in the spotlight here, two new colorways each for the GEL-Kayano 14 and GT-2160 in the “Earthenware Pack.”
For the uninitiated, this “Earthenware” concept has been a constant through this year and the tail end of 2023, bringing tonal looks and some no-sew construction to the Japanese brand’s most venerable runners. The motif certainly lives on in this applications in broad strokes, but the colorways themselves push the envelope a bit further. Treatments of tri-tone “Fjord Grey/Graphite Grey” and “Graphite Grey/Oyster Grey” deliver the pottery vibe. Although the GEL-Kayano doesn’t change from its mainline hardware, the GT-2160 upholds the flush look of its previous “Earthenware” take with thin overlays and a triangular patterned heel counter.
