PLACES+FACES Unveils Reebok Collaboration With Short Films

With so many sneakers hitting the newswire at any given time, making noise for any particular collab can be highly challenging. PLACES+FACES are set to tee off their first-ever sneaker capsule, and they’ve managed to stand out with its rollout, unveiling two “short films” to introduce their Reebok Classic Leather pairs to the world.

Titled “THE FUNERAL” and “THE LAST PAIR,” the white and black colorways in the collection each get individual spotlights but the same dose of irreverent humor. In the former, the pallbearers at a funeral console a grieving widow before each turning their attention to the pair in question, coyly wondering aloud what’ll come of their fallen friend’s footwear.

The latter catches a relatable moment for any sneakerhead, a kid in the budding stages of the hobby begging his mom for the PLACES+FACES Reebok Classic Leather. A swap meet vendor stonewalls the duo initially before relenting when offered an exorbitant price, revealing a replacement for his “last pair” as the now-elated mother & and son exit screen.

As for the kicks themselves, PLACES+FACES keep to a standard script for this introductory capsule. The black pair stamps an all-black upper atop a gum sole, sneaking in reflective 3M detailing on the Vector logo. In white, the shoe inverts to chalky tonal suede, sporting P+F accents on the laces. Though it isn’t pictured in the official images, the packaging for either pair circles back to the brands’ photo blog origins, evoking retro Polaroids on the shoebox.

Both pairs of PLACES+FACES Reebok Classic Leather release via either brand’s channels on October 23rd, either edition retailing for $130. Below you’ll find detailed images of the black and white colorways with attached “Where To Buy” sections containing direct links for drop day.
