For most basketball fans, especially those in New York and Indiana, when you think about Larry Johnson, the first thing that comes to mind has to be the infamous “4-Point Play.” Back in Game 3 of the 1999 NBA Eastern Conference Finals, LJ was fouled by the Pacers’ Antonio Davis as he hit a game-tying shot in the final seconds and knocked down the free throw to take the lead and secure a Knicks win. It became known as “The 4-Point Play” and will forever be the defining moment of Larry’s tenure as a Knick. Sadly, LJ’s career was cut short due to back problems, but before he was done, Larry was thrilled to bring the Fila FX-100 back to the NBA during his final stretch with the Knicks.
To honor Larry and his legendary Game 3 heroics, Packer Shoes and Fila will host the Knicks legend at a special in-store event to re-release the FX-100 ‘4-Point Play Pack’, featuring four original colorways of the classic model. 100 individually numbered pairs of each colorway will be available for a fitting price of $100 each, but if you get there early, the first 100 people to buy a pair will also receive a free t-shirt. Posters and stickers will also be given away, with Larry in attendance to meet fans and sign shoes, boxes and posters. It’s all going down next Thursday, October 14th at Packer Shoes in Teaneck NJ, so if you’re a fan of LJ or the iconic Fila FX-100, you won’t want to miss it. Doors open at 6:30pm, so plan accordingly and check out some more pics of the Packer Shoes x Fila FX-100 ‘4-Point Play Pack’ after the jump.
