Carmelo Anthony’s homecoming brought a city-wide rejuvenation to a team, while vastly improved thanks to the MVP-caliber nightly performances by Amare Stoudemire, was mired in a decade-long slump at the bottom of the league and no savior in sight. Although the New York Knicks didn’t improve (team record-wise) after Melo’s arrival, the NBA Playoffs were another story; the Knicks, despite being swept by the Boston Celtics, were kept afloat thanks to Carmelo’s superstar performances. Injuries kept some key players out, but Carmelo lit up the scoreboard and willfully carried the load on his shoulders and will do so for several years.
The Jordan Melo M8 marks Carmelo Anthony’s eighth signature sneaker with Jordan Brand and the first as a New York Knick; in fact, the Melo M8 is the first notable signature sneaker for ANY New York Knickerbocker since Ewing’s dropped two decades ago (sorry, Starbury’s don’t count). These two upcoming Knick-inspired ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ colorway are now officially part of the Jordan Melo M8 line-up when the shoe releases on October 6th at retailers like Foot Locker. But will the NBA get its wheels again in time? Check out the Jordan Melo M8 ‘New York’ colorways after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for more Jordan Brand updates.
