Wale Defends His Veteran Sneakerhead Status

It seems that with each passing day the celebrity set becomes more and more infatuated with the world of sneakers. Being a subculture and all a little bit of backlash is to be expected, with a handful of folks taking the opportunity to lampoon those they’ve deemed as ‘not real sneakerheads’ once the images hit the internet. It’s safe to say Wale is not the right dude to do that with. One of his Instagram followers recently tried to put the MMG rapper on blast for hopping on the sneaker bandwagon once he found fame, to which Wale responded with a series of classic shots from way back proving he’s been in this thing for a minute. OG Nike Air Foamposite One’s, Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Tiffany’s, Nike SB Dunk High ‘Lucky’s, and more were spotted in the vintage shots, proving indeed that Wale has been doing this for a while. Click through for the photos and let us know if Wale has your respect as far as his depth and longevity in this whole thing.
