Jordan Brand employee and contributor, Frank Cooker, recently took to Instagram to reveal a photo of a deconstructed version of the Air Jordan 3. Stripped of elements that avid Jordan 3 fans have become accustomed to, this offering comes devoid of any elephant print detailing, and any extra cushioning. While from a distance, it might just look like another pair of Cyber Monday 3s, it actually comes adorned with a full-leather construction and clear deconstructed elements the likes of a much thinner ankle collar and tongue unit as well as navy blue detailing along its midsole. It is not secret that deconstruction is an aesthetic trending upward in the industry as it was dramatically popularized by Virgil Abloh’s “The Ten” collection.
A deconstructed version of the Air Jordan 3 is supposed to arrive at retail this year, but no word has surfaced regarding whether or not this will be that sneaker. Enjoy a first look at this pair for now, and stay tuned for updates as they become available.
