Italian luxury fashion house Versace made quite a footprint into the world of sneakers with the launch of the over-the-top and wondrously chunky Chain Reaction shoe. Designed in collaboration with 2Chainz, the Versace Chain Reaction didn’t hold back with patterns and detailing, with the chain-link outsole design giving the shoe its unmatched aesthetic. Head of the brand’s footwear design Salehe Bembury just revealed a brand new silhouette for the SS19 season – sportier and higher-cut silhouette that features a textured bootie exterior, mesh uppers, and a new dot graphic that resembles the “Kobe code” featured on the Black Mamba’s Nike signature basketball shoes. Another photo reveals the same chain-link outsole design in gum, so perhaps that’ll be the unifying design detail that ties the entire Versace footwear product line together. Stay tuned for further updates, and check out what Sacai and COMME des Garcons revealed at Paris Fashion Week over the weekend.
