Vans Celebrates Independent’s 40th Anniversary With A New Capsule Collection

Vans Celebrates Independent’s 40th Anniversary With A New Capsule Collection

Vans and Independent are two brands with unmatched skateboarding heritage, the former for their revolutionary skate footwear and the latter for their nearly unbreakable trucks. In celebration of Independent’s 40th anniversary, the pillars of skate culture are coming together for a co-branded capsule collection of sneakers and apparel that prominently feature both the Vans checkerboard motif and the Independent cross logo. The partners have joined forces for three sneaker silhouettes—a Vans Sk8-Hi, Vans Slip-On and Vans TNT Advanced Prototype—all of which feature UltraCush footbeds for impact protection, Duracap uppers for extreme durability, and classic Vans waffle outsoles for still-unmatched board feel. Each pair also features Independent logos on the midsole for a touch of co-branded flair. The collaborative footwear is accompanied by a whopping 20 apparel pieces—some of which are pictured below—and the entire collection is available now on Vans.com and at Vans Skate stockists.
