The Nike Air Max Tailwind IV Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary With A Tokyo-Inspired Colorway

Since gracing the sneaker market back in 1999 and slowly disappearing as we reached into the new decade, the Nike Air Max Tailwind IV has seen quite a warm reception upon its revival quite recently. Encroaching on its 20th anniversary, the pair is arriving in full vibrancy under the themes of a Tokyo colorway. Taking in neon lights and translating it atop much of its suede and mesh construction, the pair sees a major use of a smooth violet across its most outward overlays with piping segmenting each bold section in its bright hot pink. Unders, which bear their own textures and attached hardshell molds, favor cool tones with an icy blue not too unlike the country’s beloved GariGari-Kun popsicles. Bits of spruce further adorn the smaller detailing — namely the eyestay webbing, edges of the air bubble window, and openings of the heel — with team oranges doing the same across the miniature swoosh at the toe as well as rear-placed embellishments. Grab a detailed look at the pair right here and expect to find it hitting select retailers and hopefully Nike.com come October 3rd.
