ASICS Reveals “Japan Collection” Built With Fine Leathers

Frequently drawing from their roots, ASICS and their large repertoire of performance staples are finally aiming for a quality more luxurious, upgrading some of their most well-known in luxe materials exemplary of Japan’s production prowess. Though the label has done so prior, none of their endeavors have been quite as expansive as a total of three silhouettes are set to don the premium finish. The first, which was revived most recently thanks to some help from AFFIX WORKS, is the ever-aggressive GEL-Kinsei which forgoes much of its textural mesh unders and breathable upper for hits of black leather across its every overlay. Bits of gold at the branding and sole balance out in unison with the mostly off-white bottom. In a similar vein, the Kayano 25 SPS bears the same palettes with the metallic accent note much more prominent across the outlines of the tiger stripe. Departing dramatically, the Metarun SPS bears neutrals throughout, finishing its mostly white arrangements with subtle touches of red at the bottom and standout perforations. Grab a detailed look at the entire set here and find them available now at asics.com/jp, though keep it locked just in case they get their own release at select retailers.
