Nike Inc. Dominated 2019’s List Of Best-Selling Sneakers

Checks over stripes? That was certainly the case in 2019 as Business Insider revealed today the ten best-selling sneakers of 2019 in the United States. Nike dominated this list with seven shoes under the Nike/Jordan/Converse umbrella, while adidas maintained its presence with the NMD R1 and the Yeezy Boost 350 v2. The best-seller of them all was the Air Max 270, a made-for-lifestyle silhouette that debuted in early 2018 to much fanfare and eventually became that year’s second best-selling sneaker. The 270 model was ubiquitous for its wide distribution across several large-chain retailers, but credit Nike for creating a stylish and comfortable sneaker that hit the right mark in the ever-changing mainstream trends. The adidas Superstar, once a top seller for the brand, is understandably not on this list as the brand pulled the silhouette to gear up for a massive 50th Anniversary campaign in 2020. The budget Tanjun, previously the best-seller, dropped to third overall (keep in mind that most of America is looking for inexpensive, lightweight, and comfortable footwear). Rising the ranks to number two overall is the classic Air Force 1 Low. The adidas NMD R1 seems like a bit of a surprise, but the shoe is available everywhere and relatively inexpensive, which is why it continues to move units across the nation.

In order, the best-selling shoes of 2019 were the Nike Air Max 270, Nike Air Force 1 Low, Nike Tanjun, adidas NMD R1, Air Jordan 4 Retro, adidas Yeezy Boost 350 v2, Vans Ward, Converse Chuck Taylor OX Low, Nike Air Max 97, and the Air Jordan 11 Retro.
