While it’s no secret that the Air Jordan XXXV (35) shares a lot in common with its immediate predecessor, the silhouette’s forthcoming “DNA” iteration is ostensibly doing its best impression of the Eclipse plate-featuring model’s inaugural colorway.
Clad in “White/Black/Fire Red,” the forthcoming pair nods to one of the original arrangements on the Jordan 5. Mesh windows along the profiles sit below dark suede overlays and an iridescent Jumpman logo-branded panel. The textile collar and heel, along with the tongue and inner lining, forgo any shimmering detailing in favor of a palette rooted in Air Jordan heritage, although this “DNA” option omits the ostensibly hand-written “23” on the lateral heel found on an earlier “Center of Gravity” edition. Hits of scarlet on branding throughout the pair, however, deliver familiar flair, while the sole unit further promotes future-thinking performance-basketball proposals: The updated Eclipse plate at the center mostly indulges in a “Black” scheme, whereas the surrounding midsole and outsole boast “White” and icy, translucent finishes, respectively.
