Kicks

Kicks is another way of saying sneakers or athletic footwear we assume got its start in the world of soccer where the ball is kicked. In the 1970s to 1980s, European clothing and footwear brand Kickers shoes were quite popular among football supporters this may have added to the use of the word Kicks in popular culture.  In 2006, the word kicks received more popular culture support with a sneaker documentary featuring the word called ‘Just for Kicks’ by Lisa Leone and Thibaut de Longeville.
