The Nike Air Force 1 Shadow Gets 8-Bit Graphics

The Nike Air Force 1 Shadow Gets 8-Bit Graphics

As gamer culture shifted to the mainstream, the Nike umbrella prepared releases to meet it. Alongside trophy-worthy Air Jordan 1s for League of Legends, the brand also induced nostalgia by way of the Air Force 1, applying a number of themes signature to the 8-bit era.

These influences are now taking further hold atop the silhouette’s Shadow variant, its Swoosh modified to a near excessive degree. While the general shape is still the same, the look is far more unique, mimicking motion through a dual layer of paneling — the outside translucent, inside a smooth blue, and both jagged, pixelated in cut. Elsewhere, by comparison, the upper is far more understated as black dyes dress the model’s usual deconstruction. Collars, then, touch up with a bit of orange in match of the medial check, branding (both at the heel and tongue) features multiple logos simultaneously, and the additional “AIR” along the trim bears a design perfectly on-theme.

Grab an official peek at these here and expect a Nike.com release to arrive soon.

In other news, the Air Jordan 1 Volt Gold was officially revealed.
