Sneaker News Goes Inside The ShoeZeum – Part 9: Best of the Rest

Inside The Shoezeum Part 10 Best Of The Rest

Jordans, Nike SB, Nike Running, Nike Basketball, Movies, the Break Room, Television, Video Games, Music…what else is there to cover? Believe it or not, what Sneaker News has been showing you over the course of four weeks isn’t the entire picture, and falling in-between all the major and minor cracks are other themed groupings of sneakers worthy of their own exhibits in The ShoeZeum. It’s clear that Jordan Geller takes the time and effort to place his sneakers in a precise manner so in this latest chapter of Sneaker News’ visit to The ShoeZeum, we’ll do our best to show you the best of what’s still left to uncover.

Throughout the first eight installments of the Sneaker News x ShoeZeum features, it’s easy to recognize that Jordan already has particular ideas set in stone, and that acquiring the right shoes and props are the only hurdle to completing these exhibits. Take for example the back wall of The ShoeZeum which faces the Nike Running and Nike Basketball aisles, a set of Holiday themed showcases that cover Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Halloween inspired sneakers, or the Nike SB Dunks ‘Bic’, ‘Brut’, ‘Aquafresh’, and ‘Old Spice’ shelved in the corner of the restroom. Geller’s got a soft spot for Nike’s charitable causes, as he devotes an entire wall to the Nike Livestrong campaign, the Brain Wreck collaborations, featuring an actual Todd Bratrud-painted body-mold of a breast cancer survivor, an exhibit devoted to the 9/11 tragedy, and the Air Jordan/Nike x Doernbecher Freestyle. Sitting below is his tribute to Beaverton, OR, where Nike is headquartered, and across the room is his ode to the Olympics, featuring rare Nike apparel for the Games and other Olympic-inspired Nike sneakers.

Other notable displays include his ‘invisible’ kicks like the Nike Air Force II ‘Espo’ and the Nike Air Force 1, the school-related displays, expressing his acknowledgement of the importance of education, and his Nike Dunk paint splatter project, which shows the artistic side of the sneaker madman. The most impressive of these remaining exhibits is his Nike Training aisle, featuring most of the memorable silhouettes from the early days of Jon McEnroe and Bo Jackson, placed in chronological order. It’s a row filled with Trainer SCs, Tech Challenges, and more, but the most prized possessions of this grouping… a pristine pair of OG Nike Air Trainer 1s and the even more scarce Nike Killshot. Opposite the Nike Training wall is Jordan’s tribute to Nike’s innovation, like Lunar technology, Flywire, Boots, and shoes fit for aquatic sports.

As you can see, there really isn’t anything missing with The ShoeZeum. Jordan’s got nearly every corner covered, and while he may not own every single Nike sneaker ever created, he’s certainly building up to that point, because The ShoeZeum collection is growing with each passing day. It’s taken on a new life, evolving into something more monumental, triumphant, and awe-inspiring than it was the day before. Continue on to Sneaker News HD for a full gallery viewing of the ‘Best of the Rest’ in The ShoeZeum, and and be sure to check out the video tours of some of these exhibits after the jump.
