The ASICS GT-2160 is a running sneaker that first released in 2011. Initially met with muted response from the streetwear world, no one could’ve predicted the new life that the silhouette would find once re-launched in 2023. First unveiled to the public as part of a collab with DIME, the silhouette returned to the mainline ASICS catalog shortly after, but the stream of collabs didn’t slow down any.
Names like Kiko Kostadinov, Above The Clouds and Gallery Dept. have taken to the sneaker, a huge benefactor of the dominant tech runner style that’s taken off this decade.
