Nike Air Max Plus
The Nike Air Max Plus is a running shoe designed by Sean McDowell in 1998 that takes its design inspiration from palm trees. Its midfoot shank was designed with a whale’s breaching tail in mind, keeping the nautical themes at the forefront. That unique upper design has gone on to inspire the design of other Nike models since, the Nike Vapormax Plus standing out as arguably the most popular one to do so.
The Tn, as the silhouette is also known outside of the US, enjoyed its 25th anniversary in 2023, dropping a sizable run of new colorways in accordance. Additionally, new spinoff models came into the mix as the celebration drew into 2024; the Drift, the Tiempo hybrid and the Hike retooling are just a few in that category. After the OG “Sunset” returned in 2024, two more beloved colorways will land in 2025: the “Hyper Blue” and the “Eclair”/”Lightning.” These elevated bring-backs will slide in alongside the usual slate of general release colorways, ensuring that Air Max Plus fans have plenty of options all year.
