Nike KD 4
The Nike KD 4 is Kevin Durant’s fourth signature shoe under the Oregon giant. Its original retail run stretched from 2011 to 2012, delivering the first true footwear hit for the then-Thunder superstar. On top of being a massive commercial success, sneakerheads since have widely lauded the model as stylistically among the best in his Nike catalog. Pairs like the KD 4 “Aunt Pearl” remain some of the most sought after pairs of basketball shoes from that era.
In 2018, as Kevin Durant’s Golden State Warriors neared a second title in as many years, Nike chose to retro the silhouette for the first time. The “Thunderstruck” colorway was released online after their Game 3 win over the Cavaliers . At that time, Beaverton executives were already toying with LeBron re-releases, meaning that the revitalized KD 4 launch foreshadowed major plans for not just Easy Money Sniper’s line, but also for Nike Basketball as a whole.
Some long-awaited and extremely welcome news arrived some 6 years later. Following a retro run for the Nike KD 3 in 2023, the Nike KD 4 finally returned. The “Galaxy” kicked things off in December, followed by the “Year of the Dragon 2.0” and the “Weatherman,” the latter dropping via a shock drop in May.
Many of the aforementioned iconic colorways are set to drop in the coming months, headlined by the “Nerf” KD 4 on August 9th. The “Aunt Pearl” and “Christmas” will also retro during the Holiday season. Below you’ll find our latest coverage of the Nike KD 4, including official photos, release dates and store lists around respective drop days.
