Womens Sneakers

The invention of the athletic shoe, or commonly known in America as “sneakers”, led to an increased popularity of sports, both recreational and professional, and it wasn’t limited to just the men. Both women and children partook in sports and exercise, and womens sneakers were created for the growing female athletic community. Most women’s shoes have the same design and structure as mens shoes; the typical American womens shoe size is 1.5-2.0 sizes down from the mens variety. For example, a women’s size 10.0 would be a mens size 8.0 or 8.5.

There have been sneakers that were engineered just for women. You don’t need to be an anatomist to know that males and females possess different body proportions. A slimmer, more form-fitting design in athletic shoes were created, intended to fit the woman’s foot, and with the escalating prevalence of women’s professional sports, womens sneakers has become more than just a subcategory.

Certain brands have emerged as women’s sneaker outfitters as well; while most sneaker brands put out mens designs with accompanying pairs for the women, a few are dedicated solely to womens sneakers, like Keep, who produces urban sneakers for just the ladies. Other sneaker brands like Keds also hold continuous favor by women because of the simple and clean designs of the shoes.
