In addition to the black and red that Michael wore on his Bulls uniform and sneakers for most of his career, Carolina/University Blue has always been a MJ staple. For the current ‘For the Love of the Game‘ campaign running alongside the World Basketball Festival, Jordan Brand chose to pay tribute to Mike’s North Carolina roots by releasing a cohesive collection of University Blue sneakers and apparel. After breaking the news of the Skull Candy x JB collector’s packs and player figurines over the past few days, earlier today, we got our first peek at the juiciest FTLOTG plot twist yet. Similar to the white/silver and white/red Air Jordan Legacy displays that we have already seen at some NikeTown locations to celebrate the Air Jordan 25th Anniversary, there is currently an incredible University Blue FTLOTG edition being showcased at House of Hoops in Harlem.
Like the others, the display features all 25 Air Jordan legacy models, this time around, dipped in a rich University Blue with white midsoles and additional white and black accents. As of now there is nothing to indicate that these will hit retail, but on the bright side, the recently released University Blue Air Jordan II is still sitting on shelves as a consolation. Keep reading after the jump for a preview of this impressive concept and stay tuned tomorrow for a closer look at the entire collection.
