Nike SB’s latest Dunk Low collaboration is a must for NYC skaters. The Beaverton skate division has teamed up with women-led collective Bronx Girls Skate on a sneaker rooted in New York transit lore. After early in-hand looks at the Bronx Girls Skate Dunks surfaced back in June and July, official Nike images now confirm exactly what sneakerheads can expect.

Bronx Girls Skate is dedicated to fostering and expanding the skateboarding community, and their Nike SB Dunk collaboration highlights what brings New Yorkers together: the subway. The Dunk Low features orange piping for the B and D trains, green for the 4, 5, and 6, and red for the 1 and 2, all of which run through the Bronx. On the heel, metallic gold “NY” charms nod to the now-defunct yet still iconic New York City subway token. Graffiti-inspired “BXGS” graphics on the inner tongue reference Bronx street art, joined by a train motif and a “GS” stamp on the outsole. Gold lace dubraes engraved with “BXGS” evoke subway cars, while the collective’s full name appears on the tips of the included black and white laces.

Zooming out, the upper is constructed from black stingray leather — possibly a nod to city concrete — balanced by crisp white leather Swooshes on both sides. Altogether, the sneaker masterfully strikes a balance between detailed storytelling and everyday wearability, hallmarks of a well-executed collaboration.
