One last ride?

Stranger Things x Nike Air Foamposite One Releases On February 13th

It’s harder to get bigger than the series finale of Stranger Things, a moment that leapt from the small screen onto the silver screen as its ultimate episode capitalized on one of the few remaining monoculture series in the ether today. Nike also caught some of those tailwinds, linking up with the IP with a sprawling 80s-inspired collection just before the fifth season wrapped up. Yet it appears that the Swoosh isn’t done; the Stranger Things relationship now inspires a Nike Air Foamposite One.

Immediately, fans will clock that this shoe pulls from the stormy, terrifying climate of the Upside Down, here manifesting in a bloody black-to-red gradient with tendrils of lightning on top. In a creative interpretation, that also means that Penny Hardaway’s logo appears flipped on the heels, a branding nod that aligns with graphic Vecna insoles and a similar range of pins to what arrived with these brands’ earlier work (things are, understandably, a bit darker with this set).

While sneakerheads may more readily associate these pop culture crossovers with Nike SB, there is precedent for this effort. Especially given the overall colorway similarity, we immediately jump to the “Paranorman,” touching down at the height of Foamposite hype and a shoe that showcased the appeal of these mass media link-ups. Further, that collaborative air was reignited in 2024 as Penny Hardaway’s model looked to the world of Tekken, resulting in one of the Foamposite’s hottest resale commodities this decade.

Surely the afterglow of Netflix’s tentpole series should mean these are similarly hotly contested. Again, the Stranger Things x Nike Air Foamposite One is expected to release on February 13th, retailing for $250 upon arrival.
