Arriving in Spring 2011 is a new basketball performance model called the Nike Air Max Fly By. Sneaker News previewed this Fuse-uppered, Max Air basketball shoe back in mid-September and the overall response was positive – catchy name, sweet design, comfortable package. The Zoom Hyperfuse has already established itself as one of the most comfortable basketball shoes ever created by the Swoosh, and the Fly By is just a slight alteration to that working formula. Max Air offers a slightly more ‘cushy’ ride and the addition of an ankle strap will be a welcome reward to those who prefer the added ankle stability. Check out these new images of the Nike Air Max Fly By in three new colorways after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for release updates on this upcoming basketball shoe. via sevens.

"Max Air offers a slightly more cushy ride"? What Max Air shoes have been cushier than Zoom Air? I can't think of any. I'm positive this one won't as well. Other than that, this is a nice article.

Max Air is indeed 'cushier', as in softer, while Zoom Air is a bit more firm. Cushier doesn't necessarily mean 'better'. For basketball, Zoom is better than Max Air.

The strap doesn't look good on the shoe.
