Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Shadow” – 2013 Retro

It looks like the Air Jordan 1 ‘Shadow’ will be joining the already exciting group of Air Jordan 1 colorways on tap for 2013. This quick catalog shot promises that this rather muted Air Jordan 1 colorway, one that came out back in 2009 if you’ll recall, will be back once again. What’s more, the style code attached indicates that it will be one of those retros bearing the ‘Nike Air’ branding on the tongue (that would be the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG for those keeping track of the nomenclature. The 09 leathers were so buttery, if these get the same treatment plus the nike air tongue and no heel Jumpman, I'll be in love
@OG Bobby Johnson - That leather looks top notch! If that's the actual production-run photo, looks like it has the Jumpman on the heel.

Faces would melt if a IV (any IV) released with "NIKE AIR" on the heal.
This is real disappointing. I rarely see people wear the 09s and mine always turn heads. :/

Leather looks great on the 09s, will have to wait and see what they use for this retro.
I like this cw, it should be a easy cop since 1's are slept on.

@Mrgotkicks @Magneto78This is all about the materials. It looks like the Is with Nike Air have better leather to go along with the higher price. They may actually get this one right.

My favorite ones next to royals, im glad to see these retros this year and from the reviews of the knicks colorway the material and quality is pretty good, im looking forward to this release , might be my only two jordan brand cops of the year
@Yo_itsAaron kicks quality>bulls quality... Copped both and a little surprised at the difference in construction. A lot of glue residue on the bulls 1s.
Im kinda disappointed about this. This was a very slept on release in '09 I copped from Footaction for $65. The leather on these were in heavy comparison to the coveted "Banned" 1s that Ive yet to put my foot in, but owning the 2prs showed what happens when you put a theme & story behind a particular shoe. Both of these releases were OG colorways materials were pretty much the same. The main difference was the "Shadows" were not worn on court by MJ sold thru JB urban accounts with all the OG tags etc minus OG box. Now the "Banneds" were worn on court by MJ, which caused him to get fined for that particualar color-blocking, but the materials were the same. The "Banneds" did come in a "X" themed box & had the banned theme also put on the sneaker & sold at Nike outlets only... So with the fact you could only get the shoe through Nike outlets played a large role in the success of the "Banneds", now looks like JB is out to do it again most likely if this sneaker will carry the Nike logo on the tongue it will carry the OG box etc and open the door for hype.
@iRocJs Michael Jordan did wear these. It was in the 1985 All Star Push Excel game. I just recently figured that out myself from a youtube video. Its hard to make out but he was definitly playing in grey and black 1s.
@iRocJs nice history lesson, i learn something new all the time, this is the type of thing young sneakerheads such as my self should pay more attention to, the story behind the shoe adds more beauty to it, i love learning more about this culture ive found myself weaving into over the past 2 years, these are one of my favorite jordans, and im glad to know a little more history about this shoe

Nice but these ain't OG with a jumpman on the back! Just saying.... Change the tongue out add Nike air drop it in a Nike Box... & give it that good leather!

I had these a couple years ago i got em at sale for $50 i bet price gonna go up, not gonna last a day and... crap quality, smh

@LakerFanInJordans_PR those images are the 09 retro I believe. Even the pair in the catalog could be the 09. At any rate still a nice shoe. I don't mind the jumpman on the heel as much as I do when they put it on the tongue. When it's on the tongue it just looks like another pair of aj 1 phats.

But in catalog picture there is some black in the back part. Maybe its a jumpman.Also I think if they have a jumpman on the back they will have a jumpman on the front. But lets hope this is just a sample.
@LakerFanInJordans_PR I think the catalogue photo is actually the 09s, at least if you go by what the article says about the product number. We can only hope tho....
