How Tobie Hatfield Created Nike Free

Tobie Hatfield Nike Free

Did you know that Tinker Hatfield’s brother is also an accomplished Nike designer in his own right? He’s not had quite the impact of Tinker, really nobody has, but Tobie Hatfield has nonetheless had his hands in plenty of important projects out in Beaverton. One of them was the creation of Nike Free, that barefoot technology that’s celebrating its 10 year anniversary in 2014. In this interview with Design Boom, Tobie talks of a trip to Stanford wherein the barefoot grass runs of the track team inspired the decade-strong Nike tech. Check out the full interview at Design Boom and watch for more Nike design tales right here.
