LeBron James joined one of the most exclusive classes in NBA history when he was awarded the 2012-2013 Kia NBA MVP trophy this past Sunday. His fourth award rightfully places his name alongside other legends like Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Wilt Chamberlain, and what’s even more impressive is that LeBron has the potential to win more MVP trophies down the road and perhaps end his career with the most in NBA history (he would need seven to do so – Kareem’s got six). But in 2013, what separates LeBron from the rest is that his signature shoe line has grown rapidly since he won his first trophy, with Nike fashioning a special edition version of each signature shoe model (MJ had a signature line, but never a solo “MVP” colorway).

Earlier today LeBron James went “Retro” for the first time in a while and brought out the Nike Zoom LeBron VI “Fairfax” for his return to Cleveland. The Ken Link-designed Nike Zoom LeBron VI was the last of the LeBrons before it moved onto the era of Jason Petrie – a move that made LeBrons much more popular by a noticeable degree and solidifed the Nike LeBron as the flagship name and model for Nike Basketball. With consumers chasing down LeBron releases at a faster rate than ever before and the recent unveiling of the Nike LeBron X Elite bringing in even more excitement to the LBJ label, we’d like to continue our “What Do You Think?” series by posing the thought of a Nike LeBron Retro. Even the non-LeBron fans can’t help but take notice whenever the former King James of Cleveland returns to his home for a game. For this special show, LeBron wore two different shoes, rotation an incredible Nike LeBron X “Silver” PE and going throwback with the Nike Zoom LeBron VI “Fairfax”. The shoes played second fiddle to his overall performance, as he poured in a ridiculous statline that included a Triple-Double while leading the Heat to a W from a 25-point deficit. LeBron’s current motto has to “Keep Calm and Win Games” as Miami continues its push to a record-breaking streak, so check out the images from last night’s showing below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more NBA Feet.

CHRISTMAS-INSPIRED SNEAKERS WEEK
While this classic LeBron release didn’t have a direct ‘Christmas’ colorway, LeBron James broke out the entertaining ‘Chalk’ colorway of the Nike Zoom LeBron VI during the 2008 Christmas Day match-up against the Washington Wizards. ‘Chalk’ was a play off the memorable Nike LeBron ad campaign, which featured LeBron and a sea of Cavaliers fans – including Lil’ Wayne – throwing up the chalk into the air as a precursor to the launch of the LeBron VI. The sixth LeBron model was the end of a design era for the Nike LeBron, as Jason Petrie took the helm for the much more popular LeBron VII, and the ‘Chalk’ is considered to be one of the best of the entire VI catalog. Do you own these underrated LeBrons? Peep the rest of Classics Revisited below and stay tuned for ‘Christmas’ kicks!
