Nike Air Yeezy Prototype
The most publicized and hyped sneaker of 2009, the Nike Air Yeezy, is less than a week away from releasing in limited quantities across the globe, so it’s only right that our friends over at Complex sat down with the two people behind the Air Yeezy, Nike Creative Director of Special Projects, Mark Smith and of course, Kanye West, to discuss how the Air Yeezy came about. The project itself started shortly after the Air Force 1 25th Anniversary Event in New York City, as Kanye explains that’s when he “sat there and drew countless forms of shoes, and a lot of them were inspired by Back to the Future, by the McFlys or whatever people call them—I just call them the Mags”.
