Will the GEL-Nimbus 10.1 become the next big ASICS tech runner? Measuring up to models like the GEL-1130, GT-2160, and GEL-Kanayo 14 is certainly a tall task, but it’s not one the Japanese sneaker brand is shying away from. Collaborations with Stefon Diggs, KITH, and MIN-NANO tell us that ASICS has high hopes for the GEL-Nimbus 10.1, and if the quality of inline releases is any indication, the new hybrid formulation is ready to continue its ascent in 2025.
Here we have three new colorways that just released via the ASICS website, presented in “Black/Midnight,” “Black/Rust Orange,” and “White/Saxon Green.” To the uninitiated; the model features the quirky upper of 2008’s GEL-Nimbus and the sole of the ubiquitous GEL-Kayano 14. Unlike what we’ve come to expect from hybrid Jordans and the like, the fusion of the two models is seamless and pretty much unrecognizable to the the untrained eye.
Mesh, leather, and metallic silver treatments up top offer a familiar material variety, but the GEL-Nimbus 10.1 distinguishes itself from the rest of the Sportstyle category with drastically different paneling. Both sides feature canvas underlays with wavy meander prints, and the lowermost eyelets are placed diagonally for added intrigue. Moreover, while the 10.1 isn’t a trail shoe by definition, rope laces have been included on every colorway thus far.
As mentioned, all of the three new GEL-Nimbus 10.1 colorways are available now via the ASICS website. See our “Where To Buy” sections below for purchase links.
