Air Jordan XXI (21) Sample – Codename ‘Jordan Elev8’

Sometimes, samples look even better than the final product.  While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the pictures speak for themselves on this one.  Dubbed ‘Jordan Elev8’ to conceal its identity, this prototype Air Jordan XXI (21) is evidence that good ideas can take time.  This bright red suede pair is all at once completely ’21’ and utterly different.  Most notably, the huge mesh ankle inserts have something of an awkward gap at the top, and were wisely replaced on the production model by a smooth vent.  A different take on both the outer forefoot and outsole pods offer more insight on the design process.  Enjoy more photos after the jump and stick with Sneaker News in case these ever pop up on the ‘bay.  via CK
