In a perfect ending to a new start the New York Yankees won their 27th Championship in their brand new stadium after going eight years without a win. While the entire team took home the win, it was three names that made it count with Hideki Matsui’s home run and six RBI’s which tied a Word Series record, Andy Pettitte holding it down for a little over five innings and of course our favorite closer Mariano Rivera shutting it down. As some of you may notice most of the Yanks were in a variety of Nikes, though we didn’t catch anything crazy like C.C. Sabathia who had on Air Jordan XI Cleats during the ALDS Game 1.
