The Air Jordan XIII (13) was introduced for the 1997-98 NBA Season, Jordan’s 13th and final season with the Chicago Bulls. By then, the Air Jordan legacy was firmly cemented into footwear history, mainly for its avant-garde design. The 13th Air Jordan in the Legacy did not disappoint; the Air Jordan XIII featured an outsole shaped after the paw of a black panther and a jewel on the rear hear representing the eye of the large cat. This colorway was frequently worn by Michael Jordan throughout the 1997-98 NBA Season and is also remembered for its “supporting” role in Spike Lee’s ‘He Got Game’, which starred Denzel Washington and budding star Ray Allen.
This deadstock pair you see here was issued to Michael Jordan himself for in-game wear, but these never touched Jordan’s feet let alone the United Center hardwood. That season was quite a whirlwind for Michael Jordan and his shoes, especially in the postseason; Jordan wear-tested two great colorways of the Air Jordan XIII Low and for the NBA Finals, Michael prematurely introduced the Air Jordan XIV. This Game Issue pair of the deadstock size 13.5s would be a significant addition to any hardcore Air Jordan collector, so check out the gallery of images after the jump and try your luck with this auction from mr.warehouse on eBay.
