adidas Originals continues to roll out new lifestyle-oriented sneaker models, with their latest offering a look with tons of familiar design cues. The adidas Originals Resplit Mid has a novel shape over all, but there’s no denying the notched eye placket resembles the Nike Dunk and Air Jordan 1. Beneath the notch is a seatbelt-like strip of fabric running diagonally to the sole, something like Supra’s Tom Penny signature, the Bullet. And with the toe, tongue and sole, the Resplit calls out to legendary Three Stripes indoor soccer models like the Samba. On the Resplit Lo, you get far less Dunk/AJ and far more Samba, as the below-ankle cut could easily pass for an indoor soccer shoe.
