The beloved Dark Neon Royal Nike Air Foamposite One is set for a retro release early in 2011, but it was the above pictured shoe that put Anfernee ‘Penny’ Hardaway on the map two years before the Foam Ones hit retail. The Nike Air Max Penny 1 is also scheduled for a Spring ’11 retro release in the OG ‘Orlando Magic’ colorway that introduced the world to Chris Rock’s Lil Penny marionette. These joints have the massive swooping midsole that foreshadowed design trends in both the ‘vented’ Foam Ones and the Air Penny III’s ‘liquid’ sections, and of course, the resulting 1/2 Cent hybrid.
