It was almost as if the universe created transient superstars in the vacuum left by Michael Jordan’s sudden retirement in 1993. Anfernee ‘Penny’ Hardaway and Grant Hill were each drafted third overall in ’93 and ’95, respectively, both spent significant time with the Orlando Magic, and both players’ all-NBA careers were stopped short by unfortunate and repeated injuries right around the time MJ came back to take the throne. Hardaway and Hill are both remembered for their signature sneakers, but especially in 2010, one of Penny’s stands out above all the rest.
The Nike Air Foamposite One will return in its OG Dark Neon Royal colorway early next year, a shoe that popped up in a couple of memorable releases earlier this year.
