If you checked out the Sneaker News feature Michael Jordan Through The Years: Air Jordan III, you would have learned that the shoe itself almost never happened. Michael Jordan had expressed a desire to jump ship and climb aboard another vessel, but Tinker Hatfield’s magic touch lured Jordan back for good. With elephant print added to appease Jordan’s desire for an animalistic texture and tumbled leather for the luxurious feel, the resultant Air Jordan III was introduced into the world and immortalized into the sneaker culture as one of the greatest footwear designs of all time. The White/Cement Grey pair was last re-issued in 2001 with ‘Nike Air’ on the heel and will arrive in 2011 with the Jumpman logo taking its place. Everything else remains the same, so we expect these to fly off shelves while giving a necessary refresher to sneaker collections around the globe. A detailed gallery awaits you so take a look at these images from Rstor and snag a pair early from eBay.
