Michael Jordan suddenly announced his return to the NBA on March 18, 1995, and quickly inserted himself into the next game on March 19th against the Indiana Pacers. During that ‘Welcome Back’ game, Michael wore the White/Black-True Red colorway of the Air Jordan X, one that is often regarded as the ‘Chicago’ colorway. Aside from the obvious color coordination with the Bulls uniforms, the ‘Chicago’ was actually part of the Air Jordan X City Series, which featured the tenth Air Jordan shoe in city-specific colorways like New York, Sacramento, and Seattle. In 2009, notice of a Retro release (as part of the Air Jordan Collezione 10/13 package) had sneakerheads excited for a possible future return of the shoe, and during the Spring 2012 season, you can welcome back the Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’ with open arms. These are slated for a release during the early part of the Spring 2012 season (January being the tentative month) with ’23’ stitched on the upper and the black/red checkerboard pattern on the inner lining. Excited? Let us know if you’ve been waiting for these.
