Sneaker News Weekly Rewind: 7/30 – 8/5

If you follow Sneaker News, you’re probably on top of all the important sneaker-related happenings. For example, you’d know the official release date of the Air Jordan XI Concord, or be aware of that never-before-seen sample colorway of the Nike LeBron 9. Sneaker News also dropped a ton of Nike SB news, like the upcoming Lance Mountain x Nike SB Blazer, and Nike Penny news, like the two new colorways of the Nike Zoom Rookie. Detailed images of the Air Total Foamposite Max also surfaced, as did a look at a prototype of a Nike Tiger Woods signature shoe. Vans is doing yet another collaboration with Supreme – a trio of colorways of the Vans Era with housefly graphics on the upper. We also got a look at some Air Jordan samples, like the unreleased Levi’s x Air Jordan Low that was spotted at the Jordan Brand HQ in Beaverton.

Other sneaker related news included Tinker Hatfield’s 30th Anniversary with Nike, in which he celebrated in Cirque Du Tinker fashion. The past week was also filled with great celebrity sightings, including a rare Wu Tang Clan Celebrity Feet from Sydney. Custom sneakers made noise again, as we launched the Air Force 1 division of our Battle of the Customs, while new customs sneakers like the Kobe VI ‘Venice Beach’ and Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Nam’ brought more excitement to the category. Sneaker News also featured a small collection of rare vintage shoeboxes – a far cry from today’s brown and orange varieties. Sneaker Con has taken over the middle of the summer, as we brought you a look at the event recap of last week’s Sneaker Con Miami and also gave you information on this weekend’s Sneaker Con DC. The final Sneaker News Weekly Buyer’s Guide of the summer also launched, with a this week’s big-time drops being the Blake Griffin Hyperdunks and Air Jordan 2.0.
