adidas Originals ZX 500 – Rust – Royal – White – Grey

With the Nike Air Max 1 making a huge mark on the footwear industry in 1987, 86’s adidas ZX 500 and other models of its ilk became a thing of the past as the industry leaders moved toward technology driven performance.  But even if it looks more than a year older than the AM1, the ZX500 certainly shares a penchant for simple suede colorways and this new pair can hold its own against any of the retro runners we’ve seen from any brand in 2011.  Click through to see close-ups of just how lush this rusty pigskin suede upper really is and look for them at adidas Originals retailers later this year; Japan’s Styles just sold through their pre-orders in advance of a projected October ship date.
