With the Nike Air Max 1 making a huge mark on the footwear industry in 1987, 86’s adidas ZX 500 and other models of its ilk became a thing of the past as the industry leaders moved toward technology driven performance. But even if it looks more than a year older than the AM1, the ZX500 certainly shares a penchant for simple suede colorways and this new pair can hold its own against any of the retro runners we’ve seen from any brand in 2011.
