Converse more than any other brand has sought out collaborators known for their heritage of premium materials. Companies like Harris Tweed, Woolrich and Schott Leather have all popeed up on the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star, and now a new premium teammate for a more obscure model. The Converse First String Standards Dr. J Pro is pictured above in a super-deluxe Horween Chomexcel leather, which means these joints have been through nearly a month of tanning to pack in the nearly 90 processes Horween uses on the CXL material. Horween says that the Chromexel drying room is the most pleasant fragrance in their factory, and the sensory appeal certainly carries over to the look of these burgundy and brown hightops. Click through to get a better view and expect less than 400 pairs of each colorway when the burgundy and black editions drop in November and on Saturday, September 10th, respectively.
