Nike Basketball sure has come a long way, hasn’t it? Bruce Kilgore’s original 1982 design of the presidential aircraft-inspired basketball shoe lives on incredibly strong, celebrating thirty rock-solid years in 2012. This original pair of the Nike Air Force 1 High, brought to our attention by Complex, can only force you think about the evolution of Nike Basketball from 1982 to 2011, with special designs influenced by marquee players like Michael Jordan, Anfernee Hardaway, Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter, and LeBron James. This pair of high-tops is actually a plain white/grey pair with the swoosh painted red, presumably to match a team uniform, but remember that Sneaker News showed you an OG pair of the Air Force 1 Low in White/Red last year! From leather, mesh, and rubber, to Hyperfuse, Flywire, and Zoom Air, Nike Basketball has certainly jumped to a whole new plateau of design and function. Check out the detailed gallery of this vintage sneaker gem below, and to check out the shockingly low price, see the completed auction from starcitytraders on eBay.
