Nike Lebron 9 Prototype Summary

As we continue to see new Nike LeBron 9 colorways, the sneakerhead sentiment seems to be switching from “let’s wait and see” to “South Beach party part two!”  In short, the two new Miami-derived colorways on the LeBron 9 we’ve seen over the past couple days have earned LeBron James’ ninth Nike Basketball signature a ton of new fans, but could any combination of colors have saved the above pictured prototype?  To be completely fair, these joints were never intended for release and look somewhat fragile, especially when compared to the carbon fiber-paneled LeBron 9 final design, but have you seen this many strings on a hightop this side of John Varvatos’ multi-eye Chucks?  The overall silhouette on these is similar to the final version but with less Hyperfuse, different Flywire placement and a complete and utter lack of branding.  Click through for more angles, let us know how you feel about this early sketch-in-the-flesh and if you think Jason Petrie and co. got it right with the ‘real’ Nike LeBron 9.  via pimpindnice of NT/corkcloth
