Nike Dog Sculptures By Vinti Andrews

As the sneakerhead subculture continues to grow in breadth and sophistication, we’re seeing more and more art inspired by kicks.  From Air Jordan ceramic sculptures to something like a massive cheeseburger, the range of media used to represent sneakers is quite wide, so what happens when you go the other way and use shoes to make something else?  Just as we saw with his work utilizing the Air Jordan V and Nike Air Max 1, Vinti Andrews prefers to utilize deconstructed vamps to craft aggressive dog figures.  In this case, it’s the Nike Sky Force ’88, Air Max 90 and Dunk Low that get the canine treatment; how does this ‘hybrid’ breed stack up to, say, the Air Max Barkley?  Click through to see several more examples and let us know how these pieces rank against some of the other art we’ve profiled here on Sneaker News.  via Beams
