Since its inception, the go-to method for adding extra cushioning to a Nike SB sneaker release was via Zoom Air. Be it the Zoom-embedded insoles of the Dunk and Blazer SBs or the built-in style from Omar Salazar’s first signature, Zoom has proven itself indespensible for finding that middle ground between protection and board control. And while it’s performed admirably (and will continue to do so for several models), Swoosh skateboarding is clearly transitioning at least some of its lineup toward LunarLon footbeds, the reworked Nike SB Omar Salazar LR a fine example of how you can have your cake and eat it too. These add on to the Salazar series with a vulcanized sole that’s been buffered with a Lunar foam insole, and this purple and grey getup offers the kind of outrageous style we’ve come to expect from Omar and his space-inspired sigs.
